Call for papers



Submitting a proposal

Proposals can be submitted only through the conference website. The official language of the conference is English.

This is what you need to submit your PAPER and POSTER:

  • An abstract of 100-150 words. The abstract will appear in the conference program.
  • An extended summary of 1000 words, detailing the aims, methods,findings, and theoretical and educational significance of the researchor project. Please know that this extended summary is the basis for thereviewers. Choose one of the conference themes for your proposal. Checkthe criteria for proposing a paper.
  • Full contactinformation, including e-mail address and affiliation, for each of theauthors involved. Please note that the personal information you submitwill be published exactly as it was submitted.

ICTapplicants should indicate in detail the kind of equipment andfacilities they will need. The conference venue offers computers,projectors and overhead projectors. A fast network infrastructure isavailable.

 

Four themes of NORSMA

NORSMA will have four central themes, around which the plenary lectures and sessions will be organised. These four themes are:

Theme A: Creating a learning environment
This includes learning materials, teaching instruction, interventions, and scaffolding.

Theme B: Teacher education
This includes teacher competences, tools for teachers, and professional development.

Theme C: From theory to practice
This includes giving teachers access to research, teachers and researchers co-learning, and researching own practice.

Theme D: Becoming special
This includes what it means to be a special needs teacher, working in inclusive settings, and exploring practices.

 

Deadline for submission is June 30th 2009.

Notification for acceptance of the proposal will be August 15th 2009.

 

CRITERIA USED BY REVIEWERS FOR EVALUATING SUBMISSIONS
On the scale of 1-5

  • Choice of problem/topic.
  • Theoretical framework, conceptual rationale, grounding.
  • Clarity of definition of
    • research questions and objectives.
    • aims of the project.
  • Method and design (context, participants, data sources, sampling, procedure, ethical issues).
  • Quality, appropriateness and presentation of
    • description, analysis, interpretation and/or results.
  • Organization, structure and language of submission.
  • Overall quality.
  • Significance for theory, practice, or policy.
