
Climate and clothing
In October the weather is still mild in Iceland, but warm clothes and raincoats is always recommended. With all the geothermal hot water and the Blue Lagoon, swimsuit is a must in Iceland!
Local currency
The Icelandic monetary unit is the Icelandic krona (ISK). Information on exchange rate and currency converter. Major credit cards are accepted in most shops and restaurants. There are several bank machines in Reykjavik, as well as at Keflavik airport, and at the bus terminal of the Fly Bus in Reykjavik.

Transportation from Keflavik airport
The international Keflavik airport is in approximately 45 minutes drive from Reykjavik centre.Transport from the airport is mainly by the FlyBus or by taxi. The FlyBus is relatively cheap, it goes to The Reykjavik Bus Station and after that it drops of passangers at the citie's main hotels. A taxi can be an option when traveling more than 4 in a group (they take up to 7 passengers). They offer fixed rates from the airport to hotels. More on transportation and the airport.

From most hotels it is easiest and fastest to go by foot. Ask at the reception for the nearest bus to, see map of Reykjavik
